SAVE OUR RAIL ORDERED TO PAY GOVERNMENT LEGAL COSTS

Save Our Rail members say they’re devastated, and are seeking legal advice, after the Court of Appeal today ordered the group to pay the state’s legal costs.
The court found the government didn’t need to enact legislation to close around two kilometres of track between Wickham and Newcastle station.
Save Our Rail argues the majority of residents remain opposed to development on the corridor, and want it used for light rail.
