People planning a trip to the Sunshine State over the coming days are urged to pack their border passes and be patient.
Motorists crossing through police-controlled checkpoints today got caught in bumper-to-bumper traffic, with delays of up to two hours.
“Reconsider maybe putting it off if you can until this settles down because there is a lot of traffic that is banking up presently,” Supt Dave Roptell said.
It comes after Queensland declared almost 80 suburbs in Sydney ‘virus hotspots.’
