Footings for a pedestrian overpass at Jesmond are shooting up as work continues on Newcastle’s Inner City Bypass.
Member for Wallsend, Sonia Hornery says stage 5 works are progressing well, with further construction to commence in the next few months.
Utilities such as water, gas and electricity poles will be relocated to allow for the commencement of additional road works.
Newcastle Road will be widened and bike paths will be added on both sides of the road.
Meanwhile, the M1 extension from Beresfield to Raymond Terrace will have its Environmental Impact Statement released by June 30, 2021.
