SIGH OF RELIEF AFTER BLAZE COMES FRIGHTENINGLY CLOSE TO ABERDARE HOMES

Fire crews have worked through the night to bring a fierce bushfire at Aberdare in the Hunter Valley under control.

The blaze jumped containment lines late yesterday, threatening homes and tearing through more than 100 hectares of land.
