A 91-year-old man has been granted bail, after allegedly assaulting his wife at Berkeley Vale on Tuesday night.
The 79-year-old victim was flown to John Hunter Hospital with head injuries, where she remains in a critical condition.
Her husband was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
