NFF PRESIDENT TALKS SHENHUA ON THE LIVERPOOL PLAINS

President of the National Farmer’s Federation Brent Finaly paid a visit to the Liverpool Plains today to hear about landholders’ concerns with Shenhua’s proposed coal mine.
Farmers are playing the waiting game, with the future of the project back in the state government’s hands.
Mr Finlay says the federation is worried about the impacts it could have on the industry as a whole.
“It’s looking at how these projects can impact on our agriculture production systems and in particular on the quality and also the safety of our food production, that is our marketing point for Australian agriculture to the world.”
