UPGRADES SET FOR HAMILTON’S GREGSON PARK

Hamilton’s Gregson Park could soon receive some much-needed TLC.

Newcastle Council has announced a master plan will be developed with input from the community.

Work is set to begin on Monday to transform the former Hamilton Bowling Club into a temporary shade structure.

“We’ll start to introduce some of the ideas like a community garden for example, which the community and the local residents are the school are really keen on.” – Carol Duncan, Newcastle Councillor.

Council’s also looking at other possible upgrades, including increased lighting and better accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.
