MISSING BOY FOUND SAFE AND WELL

A teenage boy with autism who went missing in the Port Stephens area has been found safe and well in the Blue Mountains.
13-year-old Darshan Siegel was last seen on the Pacific Highway at Heatherbrae around 9.15pm yesterday.
He was reported missing when he walked away from his mother and failed to return.
Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District searched the surrounding area with the assistance of Police Rescue, Police Transport Command, the Dog Unit and the SES.
Following inquiries and a public appeal, the teen was found when he showed up at his high school on Martin Street at Katoomba around 8.30 this morning.
He’s now in the care of relatives.
Police have thanked the media and the community for their assistance.
