GAV’S WEATHER | THE WET WINTER HAS BEGUN
30 to 70 millimetres fell along coastal communities from Newcastle to the Gold Coast in the hours before 9 this morning.
Isolated showers also developed over the north-west this afternoon.
Along the coast, the moderate onshore / northerly winds and cloud cover are helping to produce more showers this afternoon and tonight, with more to come into the early hours of the morning.
Still clear elsewhere across the majority of the nation.
The trough sitting over the east coast will continue to produce more wet weather overnight and clear in the morning for most of the region.
The rain will return on Sunday with more inland falls on the way.
Inland totals on Sunday will much bigger.
