Barnaby Joyce has offered $2.2-million to assist in the development of Tamworth’s proposed intermodal freight hub.
The cash will help to provide an upgrade to Goddard Lane, which could eventually be used as an entrance to the hub.
The project is primarily State Government funded, with the federal member only just now stepping up to the plate.
“We are moving towards a bigger industrial area, we are moving toward the capacity to provide new jobs for the sons and daughters of Tamworth.”
The announcement coincides with the refurbishment of the nearby railway line.
