Police are hunting two offenders after an early-morning service station heist at Wallsend.
The pair, one armed with a stick or bat, targeted the BP on Newcastle Road at 4.20am.
They escaped with cash and cigarettes then fled on foot towards Douglas Street.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
