LOCAL ARTIST TO HELP DESIGN LAKE MACQUARIE ARTS BUILDING
Lake Macquarie artists are being asked to help design a new cultural facility at Speers Point Park.
A 10 metre exterior wall, part of the proposed Multi Arts Place, will become a blank canvas for one lucky creative.
Expressions of interest have opened, and $1,000 will be awarded to the winning entrant.
Lake Macquarie City Council Manager Arts, Culture and Tourism Jacqui Hemsley says the facade should reflect the region.
“This is a unique opportunity for creatives to have their work become a prominent feature of the Lake Macquarie arts scene, and I strongly encourage artists to submit their design.”
Applications can be made through Lake Macquarie Council’s website, and close on June 5.
Pending approvals, construction is expected to start later this year.
