NEW ENGLAND COUNCILS TO SHARE IN $11 MILLION FOR ROAD PROJECTS

New England councils, will soon have a hand in more than $11 million in Federal Government funding – financing new road and infrastructure projects.

More than $2 million will be made available to Tamworth Regional Council, with Armidale, Inverell, Gwydir Shire and Upper Hunter Councils receiving in excess of $1-million.

5 other councils, including Liverpool Plains and Glen Innes, will receive $800,000 each.

It’s hoped the package will support local economies, struggling during the pandemic.
