It’s a gift she’ll never forget, a mum from Kurri Kurri has won $10,000 on a $1 scratchie which she received as a Mother’s Day present.
Speaking to the Lott, the woman said she’d completely forgotten the ticket until she found it a few days ago.
“I completely forgot I had received it, so it wasn’t until the other night that I found out it was a winner,” the woman told the Lott.
“I was sitting down watching some TV, relaxing and decided to scratch the ticket then.”
“I realised straight away that I won $10,000.”
The woman says she plans on cooking up a big feast for her family to celebrate.
“I think I will get a few new cooking appliances that I have been seeing on TV. I have wanted to get a few new things for a while,” she said.
“Then I can cook something really lovely for my family to celebrate.”
The lucky ticket was purchased at Kurri Kurri newsagency.
It’s co-owner, Yan Zhang says he’s thrilled by the news.
