WIDOW CALLS FOR INTEGRATION OF MINES RESCUE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES

There’s a push to include Mines Rescue in an initiative, designed to help save lives in rural areas.

It follows the 2014 case of a Lake Macquarie man, who accidentally shot himself west of Dubbo, then urged the emergency call operator to contact a nearby mine for help, as an ambulance was 30 minutes away.
