A Blacksmiths man has been charged for unlawfully entering a National Park for hunting purposes.
It’s alleged the man entered the Towarri National Park near Scone, in March, with two tracking dogs and a rifle for a weekend of deer hunting.
It’s further alleged he was accompanied by a woman.
Earlier this month, the 33-year-old was charged following a multi-agency investigation with officers from the Hunter Valley Rural Crime team, the Department Primary industries and the National Parks and Wildlife service.
Police say a number of hunting items including ammunition, a silencer and clothing were seized from a home in Adamstown.
The 33-year-old is facing a number of offences including hunt, shoot, injure, capture, etc or possess animal in park.
He’ll front Scone Local Court in July.
