CASE OF MENINGOCOCCAL IN NEW ENGLAND

A man is in a serious condition in a New England hospital after being diagnosed with meningococcal disease.
It’s the third case in the Hunter New England Heath area this year, but experts say the disease is on the decline, partly due to the success of the meningococcal C vaccination.
Physicians recommend children are immunised from 12 months old.
Currently in New South Wales, the vaccine is free for people up to the age of 25.
