Cessnock Council has started a new campaign to encourage the community to support local businesses.
Advance Cessnock Partners will choose five people each month who post a photo to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag ‘#supportlocalcessnock’ to be given a $100 gift card.
Council says a a key part of the campaign is using the power of social media to promote businesses in the local government area.
Council’s Economic Development Manager, Tony Chadwick says the program is all about working together.
“When we support local, every member of the community gets to enjoy the economic, social and environmental benefits – not just now, but well into the future.”
