The region’s best athletes will be recognised at the annual Hastings Sports Awards in Port Macquarie next week.
Eight awards including Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Sportsperson with a Physical Disability and Sporting Volunteer of the Year are up for grabs.
Nominees for the highly coveted Sportsperson of the Year award include Commonwealth Games boxing gold medallist Shelley Watts, swimmer Paige Leonhardt and paralympic wheelchair tennis player Janel Manns.
Last year boxing dynamo, Luke Travers, took out the prestigious title.
The award ceremony will be held next Friday at Rydges.
