MORE THAN 40 MOBILE PHONES SEIZED AS INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUE INTO MAN’S DEATH
Homicide detectives have executed a search warrant at a home in Moree, seizing 42 mobile phones and other items part of an investigation the murder of a Sydney man.
Vergel Velasquez died after he was severely beaten at a Western Sydney unit in December last year.
Last month police launched a public appeal, releasing CCTV vision of six men they wanted to speak with regarding the investigation.
Following the appeal, strike force investigators raided a home on Mehi Crescent, Moree last Friday (May 1.)
The three dozen phones seized by police are now undergoing forensic examination.
Police said the items will help in their investigation into the serious assault and death of the 42-year-old.
Last month, a white Holden station wagon was also seized at Moree.
