GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR SEVERAL LOCAL SPORTING CLUBS
Funding for local sporting clubs continues, even though matches have halted due to government restrictions.
The Casino Soccer Club receiving more than $200,000 to resurface its field and purchase new goals.
Meanwhile, the Nimbin Sports Club is using $20,000 to upgrade drainage.
“We’re looking to get the game up and running as soon as possible, and the investment into the game, better facilities is a critical part of trying to continue the activity for the community,” Football Far North Coast General Manager Steve Mackney said.
The home of the Lismore Swans AFL club, Mortimer Oval, also received $115,000 from the Stronger Country Communities Fund for new fencing.
