FATAL ACCIDENT PROMPTS CALLS FOR ROAD UPGRADE

The Member for Lismore is lobbying for a road upgrade, after a motorcyclist was killed in an accident involving a P-Plater on Monday afternoon.
Janelle Saffin says there have been a number of accidents at the Alphadale intersection in recent years.
“There is going to be an accelerating left hand turn coming out of cowling road.”
“There are plans to put some extra signs, that needs to happen sooner than later.”
The notorious stretch of the Bruxner Highway has an 80-kilometre-an-hour speed limit, but Ms Saffin would like to see it reduced to 60.
