CENTRAL COAST’S BATTLERS CAN’T FIND AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOMES

New data from the Samaritans shows Coasties at risk of homelessness are struggling to find affordable homes to rent.
Fewer than one in five properties is suitable for people on the minimum wage.
While just one percent of homes were available to those on income support who don’t qualify for the coronavirus stimulus.
“Sadly we saw no discernible impact on housing affordability as a result of those increased payments,” Samaritans CEO, Brad Webb said.
