HISTORIC SHIPWRECK DISCOVERED OFF CRESCENT HEAD

A historic shipwreck lost for more than seven decades has been discovered off the Mid North Coast.

SS Wollongbar II plunged into the depths of the ocean after a surprise torpedo attack during World War 2.

5 crew members were rescued, but tragically 32 men perished.
