A jet ski rider has landed in hospital after colliding with a boat on Lake Macquarie this morning.
Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie were called to the scene, near Sunshine, just after 10:15am, following reports a jet ski had crashed into a boat.
The jet ski rider injured his shoulder and was taken to John Hunter hospital for treatment.
Both vessels were significantly damaged and the jet ski sunk.
It became a navigational hazard, and was marked by Marine Rescue with a buoy to alert other boaters.
Detectives from Belmont Police Station are investigating the crash.
