CENTRAL COAST COVID-19 CLINICS OPEN ON ANZAC DAY
Central Coast COVID-19 clinics will remain open on ANZAC Day, in a bid to stop the disease’s spread.
It comes as Premier Gladys Berejiklian ramped up the state’s testing capabilities on Friday, announcing anyone with flu-like symptoms can now be screened for the virus.
Central Coast Health will provide an update on case and testing numbers this afternoon.
As of Wednesday, 118 people in the region were infected with the virus, and 103 had recovered.
Despite the curve flattening recently, the region sadly recorded its first coronavirus death this week.
An 80-year-old woman who was infected at Gosford Hospital earlier this month succumbed to other medical conditions, but was added to the state’s death toll.
She did not exhibit any symptoms of a respiratory infection during her hospitalisation.
Central Coast Health’s COVID-19 clinic at Gosford Hospital will operate from 10am to 4pm on ANZAC Day, while staff will be on deck at the Wyong Hospital facility 9am to 5pm.
