NEW MOREE RENAL UNIT COULD SEE FIRST PATIENTS BY CHRISTMAS

The issue of long travel times for renal dialysis patients across the Northern Tablelands could be resolved sooner than expected.
The $2-million rebuild of Moree’s renal unit will see eight chairs as opposed to the previous five – and it’s on track to be complete ahead of schedule.
“It’s actually one of the only upsides of the drought conditions we’ve been experiencing, is that there’s been no interruptions to building on the site, so construction is ahead of schedule,” Adam Marshall, Member for Northern Tablelands.
The internal fit-out and staff training are expected to commence in October, and the first patients should be through the doors by Christmas.
