Merewether’s Ryan Callinan has made a great start at the World Surfing Games in Japan.
The Novocastrian only caught three waves in the opening round, but did more than enough to secure a win.
After the Aussie women failed to make the finals, Callinan, Owen Wright and Julian Wilson are hoping to fare better in the men’s.
