KOALA HOSPITAL TO DEVELOP WORLD FIRST KOALA BREEDING PROGRAM

Port Macquarie Koala Hospital has announced they are in the initial stages of developing the world’s-first koala breeding program.

More than 500 koalas are believed to have perished on the Mid North Coast in the last bushfire season, and up to 8000 across the country.

The breeding program is aimed at accelerating the rebuilding of koala populations across  the Hastings valley.

A Go Fund Me page account created on October 31, 2019 has now raised more than $7 million.
