MAN ARRESTED FOR REPEATEDLY IGNORING PUBLIC HEALTH ACT
Six people have bene charged, and 24 have been given fines by police across the state, for breaching the Public Health Act in the last 24 hours.
One of the men who was charged will appear at Newcastle Local Court today, after he refused to give his personal details to police while in public yesterday.
Newcastle officers were patrolling Steel Street in Newcastle West just before 2pm, when they stopped to speak to two men.
The Clarence Town man, who refused to give his details, allegedly used offensive language, and had previously been given a $1,000 fine two days earlier.
He was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station, to appear in court today.
