TWO CYCLISTS HIT AS UTE TURNS INTO DRIVEWAY
Two cyclists are in hospital after being hit by a ute turning into a driveway, north of Coffs Harbour early this morning.
The two men, aged in their 40s, were ridding along Central Bucca Road at Bucca when they were struck by the vehicle just before 6.45am.
One of the cyclists suffered a head injury and was airlifted in a critical condition to Gold Coast University Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
While, the other cyclist sustained a head injury, and a possible fractured arm and pelvic injury.
He was taken by ambulance to Coffs Harbour Health Campus in a serious condition.
The driver of the ute, a man aged in his 60s, has been taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus for mandatory testing.
Officers from the Crash and Investigation Unit at Ballina were called to the scene.
