MILLIONS IN SUPPORT FOR LANDOWNERS AFFECTED BY FIRE DAMAGE

The state government has announced more than $200 million will go to help bushfire affected landholders rebuild fences adjoining public lands.

Private landholders who share a boundary with public land, and were impacted by fires earlier this year or late last year can receive up to $5,000 per kilometre to contribute to repairing damaged fences.

The program includes land adjoining national parks, forestry corporation land, crown reserves, and land managed by the RMS or local governments.

To apply for the Public Land Boundary Fencing program, visit the Local Land Services website.

All funds will be allocated by June 30, 2021.
