MEREWETHER FAMILY GOES ON A NOT SO WELCOME EASTER HUNT

One Merewether family went on the ultimate Easter hunt this weekend, after four bikes were stolen from their house.

Around 7:30 on Saturday morning, Ryley McKay noticed his favourite blue mountain bike was missing.

“So, barefoot and in b-ball shorts, I sprinted off after him, giving chase down Union St just like Darren Albert sniffing out a last ditch short side raid in the 97 Grand Final,” Ryley said in a Facebook post.

“I get close but my targets bike clicks up a few gears and it begins to peel away.”

With assistance from police and by-standers the McKay’s were able to locate all four bikes, four hours after they were allegedly stolen.

“Dad and Bec struck gold behind a dumpster in The Junction Village. Two bikes back. How good, we’re halfway there.”

While Ryley’s beloved blue mountain bike was spotted at the National Park Netball courts.

“We get the cops back on the trail and his dreams of 4 new free push bikes comes to an end,” Ryley said.

The not so welcome Easter hunt, ending with a win for the McKay’s.
