WOMAN CRASHES CAR WITH TODDLER INSIDE, FAILS TO GIVE BREATH TEST
A woman has been charged with several offences, after she allegedly crashed her car in Newcastle, while a toddler was inside.
Just before 10pm last night, the 33-year-old was driving a Holden Commodore on Main Road at Glendale, when she crashed into a traffic light.
The woman then allegedly took her three-year-old child out of the car, and ran away.
Police found the woman and child soon after, and arrested her.
She allegedly failed to give a roadside breath-test, and was taken to Toronto Police Station, where she refused for a second time.
Inquiries revealed the woman’s other two-year-old child was left at home, unsupervised.
Both children have been placed in care, and a FACS notification was made.
The woman is due to appear before Toronto Local Court on June 30.
