TAMWORTH FAMILIES RELIEVED OF PRESCHOOL FEES FOR SIX MONTHS

Parents of Tamworth preschoolers have received a lifeline this week, with the State Government announcing $51-million toward childcare fees.

It means Australian families will avoid paying preschool costs for the next six months.

The Government has also committed $82 million to childcare centres that aren’t eligible for JobKeeper allowances, to support childcare staff.

35 schools across the Tamworth region will benefit from the funding.

“We’ve already started to contact those preschools and they’re greatly appreciative of the fact that now, parents will not have to pay for preschool fees for the next six months. This is an incredible breakthrough for parents who were deeply concerned what was going to happen in Term 2.”
