TWO PEOPLE ON THE RUN FOLLOWING HOTEL BREAK-IN

A man has been charged, and two others remain on the run, after an aggravated break-in at a hotel in Raymond Terrace overnight.
Three people allegedly stormed the hotel on the intersection of William and Port Stephens Street just after midnight last night, one armed with a piece of wood.
Police say the group, consisting of two men and a woman, threatened and assaulted a 23-year-old man, who was forced to open a number of the hotel’s rooms.
During the incident, the trio is alleged to have assaulted a couple staying at the hotel.
Officers arrived at the scene a short time later and tried to stop a blue car, seen leaving a nearby shopping centre carpark.
Police pursued the vehicle but called off the chase shortly after.
Early this morning officers arrested an 18-year-old man at a home on Cambridge Street in Raymond Terrace.
He was charged with two counts of special aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence with a weapon, armed aggravated break and enter with intent and larceny.
He was granted conditional bail and will front Raymond Terrace Local Court on Tuesday 9 June 2020.
Police are now trying to track down the other two members of the group.
