A man has been charged after allegedly lighting a marine flare near the face of a police officer while attempting to avoid arrest at Comboyne last night.
Police attended a property on Ponsford Road before 7:30, to find the 25-year-old – who was wanted on outstanding warrants – hiding under a bed in a caravan.
He set off the flare before running into nearby bushland, and was arrested a short time later.
