THREE RESCUED AFTER SUPER YACHT NEAR-MISS CRASH

Three people have been rescued in dangerous conditions after their super yacht suffered a mechanical failure off the north coast.

The group was travelling from Sydney to the Gold Coast when the vessel came close to crashing into rocks at Cape Byron yesterday afternoon.

The skipper and two crew members were not injured.

Marine Area Command towed the super yacht to Southport on the Gold Coast.

Police are now investigating.
