WHERE HAS THE COMMUNITY SHARESHOP GONE?

A long-standing hand-crafted community share-shop near Hamilton train station is gone.

It’s unknown whether it was removed or stolen.

Newcastle locals took to social media venting their frustration as to where the share-shop had gone.

The share-shop provided clothes, shoes, non-perishable items and support for vunerable members of the community.

Councillor John Mackenzie said council will do its best to ensure that it is retained.
