Work has started on a new multi-million dollar police station in Inverell.
The $16-million station will be up and running within the next year or so
It’ll be two storeys high and feature a modern cell block, storage facilities and interview rooms.
From next week, demolition works will commence on the old station, before construction begins on the new.
Officers have temporarily located to a building on Campbell Street, for the duration of construction.
