KOALA SURVEYS TO FIGURE OUT CENTRAL COAST POPULATIONS

We’ll soon have a better idea of just how many koalas are on the Central Coast.
Sightings were reported around Yarramalong and Kulnura earlier this year.
Now Local Land Services is contacting residents to figure out if the marsupials are in their patch.
Central Coast Council will follow suit in spring, setting up recording equipment in bushland to listen out for lonely males’ calls.
The former Gosford City Council surveyed Coastal Open Space System lands eight years ago, but no koalas were spotted.
