The playground at St Joseph’s Primary School in Merewether has received a facelift, thanks to $200,000 raised by the community.
“It was a dust bowl, it was very dirty and there were a lot of sand storms that we got.” – Ivy Jones, St Joseph’s Merewether Student.
Today students took to a brand new football field, alongside Newcastle Jets players… and the club has vowed to return.
“We’ll bring probably half the squad down here and we’ll put on a clinic one afternoon for the students who want to join in.” – Lawrie McKinna, Newcastle Jets CEO.
