The main stretch of road into Old Bar is set to receive a make-over, with construction starting on 390 metres of Old Bar Road this week.
The project includes drainage improvements, reconstruction of a speed hump and replacing the pedestrian crossing.
Other sections of the road will be improved later in the year.
Motorists can expect disruptions in the area.
