STOLEN DOG RETURNED TO OWNERS

A stolen puppy has been reunited with her owners in Newcastle today, after being stolen by a man last month.

On February 26, police were called to a home on Parry Street, Cooks Hill after an 11-week-old American Staffordshire Terrier was stolen from the balcony.

It’s alleged a man saw the dog when walking past the home and stole it.

Just after 11am yesterday, police arrested the 34-year-old on Court House Lane in Toronto.

He was taken to Toronto Police Station, charged with stealing and possessing a stolen dog.

The man will appear in Toronto Local Court on March 10.

Athena was given water and playtime at Belmont Police Station, before being taken back to her owners.
