FUNDING ANNOUNCED TO COMBAT DRUGS IN NORTH COAST HIGH SCHOOLS

Funding to combat drug and alcohol abuse by children on the North Coast was announced today.
$210,000 over two years will go directly to youths in the Primary Health Network aged between 12 to 16.
Six high schools in Kempsey, Port Macquarie, and Wauchope will be involved in the program.
It’s part of the federal government’s strategy to tackle use of the drug ‘ice’.
“To ensure that those young people have the very best chance of completing their studies effectively and getting into a job.”
The service will also provide counselling and coordinated care for children and their families.
