A Lake Macquarie man has been charged with high range drink driving, after he was allegedly caught driving more than three times over the legal limit.
Police say the man, who was driving a Porsche, nearly hit a pedestrian outside a convenience store on Main Road, Boolaroo yesterday at midday.
Officers witnessed the incident, stopped the driver and subjected him to a roadside breathtest.
The 52-year-old from Eleebana allegedly returned a reading of 0.189 – nearly four times over the legal limit.
He was charged with high-range PCA and will appear at Toronto Local Court early next month.
