TWO NAMOI RIVER LANDHOLDERS ACCUSED OF WATER THEFT

The Natural Resources Access Regulator has charged two north-west landholders, with collecting water outside the terms of their access licenses.
The individuals are each facing seven charges.
It’s understood that they illegally obtained the water from the Namoi River in August, October and November of 20-18.
They’ll front court on March 9.
If found guilty, they could face maximum fines in the hundreds of thousands.
