LYNE MP DR DAVID GILLESPIE SELLS POST OFFICE

It’s been the centre of a political row and Lyne MP Dr David Gillespie has confirmed the sale of the post office housed at the Lighthouse Beach shopping centre.

Labor launched a High Court challenge against the National MP because it believes the Australian Post outlet could be an indirect financial interest in the Commonwealth.

That would be grounds for disqualification and force a by-election.

While the sale, to a Sydney investor, will not protect him from disqualification if the High Court rules against him, it would allow him to re-contest the seat.
