A Casino driver has had a lucky escape after his ute hit a semi-trailer while travelling on the Bruxner Highway at South Gundurimba this morning.
The 21 year-old was travelling towards Lismore when he blew a tyre, causing him to veer towards the oncoming truck.
“As soon as I couldn’t pull over any more I thought I’m gone, I’m gone, and just yanked it as hard as I could to the left, and just got enough out of the way”
The semi-trailer also swerved to avoid an accident and ended up in a ditch.
No-one was hurt.
Traffic was affected for several hours while salvage crews worked to move the truck.
