RETURN AND EARN SERVICE TO BE INTRODUCED IN URALLA

Uralla Shire Council continues to treat the town’s water supply after high levels of arsenic were detected just before Christmas.
40,000 water bottles are being trucked into the town per day, to temporarily cater for the community.
One unexpected side-effect is the need for a Return and Earn recycling service to operate out of the town.
It’ll be run as an over-the-counter facility at The Trader Store on Hill Street, where store owners Nathan and Tara Whitten will collect the bottles.
It’s hoped the service will decrease the amount of plastic on Uralla’s streets.
